Foreclosure
압류, 담보권행사
미국식 [ fɔːr|kloʊʒə(r) ] 영국식 [ fɔː|kləʊʒə(r) ]
차를 타고 가다가 아주 가끔씩 Foreclosure가 붙은 건물이나 집을 볼 수 있다.
Foreclosure는 빨간딱지가 붙는 일. 압류의 의미이다.
Example)
Homeowners can't keep up the payments, they face foreclosure.
I had to sell my house cheap to avoid foreclosure.
Foreclosure is a process that begins when a borrower fails to make their mortgage payments.
When a home is foreclosed upon, the lender typically repossesses(압류) and attempts to sell the house. This happens because mortgage loans are secured by real estate, meaning your home is used as collateral(담보).
Mortgage가 한바탕 휩쓸고 간 미국에서 주마다 foreclosure된 집들이 매물로 많이 나온다.
단어의 뜻만 알고 있고 늘 조심(?) 해야겠다.
